Painting - Watercolor On Paper

Description

I found this fire hydrant in the middle of an open field in Seabrook, Washington while on vacation with my family. I decided it would be too lonely to paint by itself so I added a brick wall. The painting is done with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint and Daniel Smith Primatek watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The combination of the heavy granulating characteristics of the paint along with the very textured surface of the Arches paper creates the illusion of textured details on everything in the piece.
